Theatre Booking Clerk Role Overview

This dynamic role will be a key addition to our theatre bookings team, playing a vital part in the planning and preparation of patients undergoing surgical and medical admissions at John Fawkner Hospital.

As a Theatre Booking Clerk, you will be responsible for handling enquiries with a professional manner, managing clerical and administrative tasks such as theatre bookings and maintenance of theatre lists, maintaining accurate and timely patient information data collection and inputting into webPAS (web-based patient administration system), and assisting and supporting clinical staff with indirect patient care and administrative tasks.

Responsibilities:

  • Handle enquiries with a friendly and professional manner.
  • Manage clerical and administrative responsibilities such as theatre bookings and maintenance of theatre lists.
  • Maintain accurate and timely patient information data collection and inputting into webPAS (web-based patient administration system).
  • Assist and support clinical staff with indirect patient care and administrative tasks.
  • Authority to Work in Australia.
  • Experience in a similar role in a Private hospital environment (Essential).
  • Experience in MS Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel) and webPAS.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Working with Children check.
  • Commitment to service excellence.
  • Ability to prioritise and organise work, with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • High level attention to detail.
  • Previous experience with health insurance (desirable).
