Donor Relationship Officer

International Justice Mission (IJM) is a global leader in protecting vulnerable people from violence around the world.

We are seeking a Donor Relationship Officer to join our team and contribute to our mission of rescuing millions, protecting half a billion, and making justice unstoppable.

As a member of our team, you will play a critical role in cultivating and managing a portfolio of donors, leveraging relationship-based moves management strategies to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors towards deeper financial engagement with IJM.

You will work closely with our Business Intelligence Team to effectively tier donor portfolios based on activity and capacity. Your responsibilities will also include developing, executing, and growing a donor engagement strategy that includes:

  • donor giving history and future revenue goals;

  • donor contact plans via phone, email, mail, and in-person or virtual contact which may be individual or in a group;

  • marketing and communications touch points;

  • donor passions, interest identification, and understanding individual donor communication preferences;

  • relationship-based moves management plan activities;

  • attracting, converting, and retaining new mid-level donors;

  • developing and executing lapsed donor strategies to financially re-engage mid-level donors;

  • ensuring increased donor retention, donor value retention, giving, and movement of relationship qualified donors to major donor portfolios;

  • researching potential donors from within the existing mass segment and creating new opportunities through external research on strategies and prospects;

  • working with relevant team members to cultivate and retain monthly freedom partners.

As a Donor Relationship Officer, you will have the opportunity to build professional and trust-based relationships with mid-level donors through various communication strategies. You will participate in agreed training courses relevant to mid-level donor segments and collaborate with our Marketing & Communications Team to develop and execute innovative mid-level donor communication and engagement strategies.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and 3+ years of proven experience delivering results in a fundraising or sales environment. They will possess strong donor cultivation or customer service experience, high-level interpersonal skills, and administrative skills with high attention to detail.

We are looking for a self-motivated, organized, and disciplined individual who can work independently and collaboratively across teams. The successful candidate will have a natural ability to influence and clearly articulate information, high EQ and CQ, discretion, self-awareness, and the ability to relate to a diverse range of donors.
