About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director, Human Resources - Client Services to join our team at Queensland University of Technology. As a key member of our Human Resources Department, you will play a critical role in the strategic management of HR services and activities that support the university's priorities in relation to people and culture.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Strategic Leadership: Provide strategic leadership and direction to the Client Services team, ensuring the effective operation of HR services and activities that meet the needs of the university.
  2. HR Service Delivery: Oversee the delivery of HR services, including HR Assist (Tier 1 level / Contact Centre support), HR Partners, Payroll Services, Superannuation and Insurance.
  3. Financial Management: Manage financial resources effectively, ensuring the efficient use of budget and resources to achieve organizational objectives.
  4. Human Resource Management: Lead and manage the Client Services team, providing guidance and support to ensure the effective management of human resources.
  5. Client Partnerships: Develop and maintain strong partnerships with clients across the university, ensuring that HR services meet their needs and expectations.
  6. Contemporary Issues: Stay up-to-date with contemporary issues in higher education, particularly as they relate to the higher education workforce.
Requirements
  1. Education and Experience: Postgraduate qualifications in a relevant field, combined with significant experience in a senior HR managerial position.
  2. Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge and understanding of best practice in human resource management, including HR service delivery, client partnerships, payroll and superannuation.
  3. Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with proven experience in providing advice, negotiating and consulting on matters of a sensitive or confidential nature at a senior executive level.
  4. Leadership and Management Skills: Proven experience in designing, delivering and improving integrated HR services that achieve organizational objectives and meet client needs and expectations.
  5. Contemporary Issues: Understanding of contemporary issues in higher education, particularly as they relate to the higher education workforce.
