Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled professional to fill the role of Midwifery Leadership Specialist.

This position plays a pivotal role in supporting Newly Qualified, International Midwives and new staff as they integrate into our team.

The ideal candidate will ensure that these individuals feel supported and empowered to thrive within their working environment.

The responsibilities of this role include coordinating and implementing orientation programmes, providing leadership to members of the Midwifery and Non-Midwifery team, and promoting appropriate midwifery care.

  • Support Newly Qualified, International Midwives and new staff in adapting to their work environment.
  • Coordinate, plan, and implement comprehensive orientation programmes tailored to individual needs.
  • Develop and maintain policies and guidelines applicable to the placements of post-registration preceptor practitioners and B5 RNs working within maternity services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance and support to Newly Qualified, International Midwives and new staff throughout their onboarding process.
  • Collaborate with senior staff to ensure a seamless induction and orientation experience for all learners and newly qualified practitioners.
  • Work closely with the Clinical Education Support Team to promote consistent approaches to post-registration education across the trust.
