Key Role Responsibilities

The MHIPS Leader plays a crucial role in building the capability of the whole school community about mental health and wellbeing.

This includes promoting, preventing and identifying mental health needs among students. The MHIPS Leader collaborates with staff to lead and embed wellbeing practices across the school.

  • Provides leadership to staff to better identify and support student mental health needs
  • Liaises with teachers and staff to monitor and evaluate student progress
  • Develops and implements evidence-based strategies to promote mental health
  • Leads a whole-school approach to mental health and wellbeing

Responsibilities include overseeing various initiatives such as attendance monitoring, social skills groups, and community education regarding wellbeing and mental health.

Engagement in professional development is also required, including completing MHIPS training and participating in Communities of Practice.
