Job Title

Enhance student wellbeing, learning and developmental outcomes as a specialist in mental health prevention and promotion activities.

  • Develop and deliver programs to improve the capability of teaching staff and school leadership in addressing student mental health and wellbeing.
  • Provide early intervention services, including short-term counselling, for students at-risk or experiencing mild to moderate mental health concerns.
  • Co-coordinate supports for students with complex needs by working with regions, local mental health service providers and other professionals.
Key Responsibilities
  • Offer professional advice and learning opportunities to build the capacity of schools to address students' wellbeing, learning and developmental outcomes.
  • Deliver support services in schools, including mental health activities and interventions for students with various mental health needs.
  • Plan and implement evidence-based strategies for students with complex needs, collaborating with families and other agencies when necessary.
  • Work collaboratively with schools to enhance mental health across the institution by contributing to policies and practices that guide others.
  • Liaise with department areas and external service providers to provide appropriate support to students.
  • Maintain professional competence through continuous development, including attending professional activities throughout the year.
  • Adhere to relevant policies and legislative requirements regarding student health information, privacy and consent.
