About Our Role:
At Youth Care Support Services, we are dedicated to providing intensive early intervention and family support to children, young people and families who are involved in the child protection system. Our goal is to empower parents with the skills and knowledge they need to provide a safe and nurturing environment for their children.
Our Mission:
We work in partnership with relevant authorities to provide holistic, evidence-based support to families, enabling them to overcome significant challenges and achieve positive outcomes.
About You:
To be successful in this role, you will possess a strong passion for child protection, along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You should also have the ability to de-escalate complex situations using a trauma-informed approach, and hold a relevant qualification such as a Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention Services or a social work degree.
About the Position:
This is a casual, weekend-focused role that offers flexible hours between 3-30 per week. As a Family Support Worker, you will play a critical role in implementing targeted goals to stabilise family environments, assisting with daily routines, medical appointments, education and training pathways, and parenting strategies. You will also use role modelling and mentoring to demonstrate healthy forms of communication and pro-social interactions.
