We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our engineering function and drive the growth of our team. As a key member of our Senior Leadership Group, you will be responsible for overseeing the engineering design team and ensuring the delivery of high-quality products to our customers.
Key Responsibilities- Complete ownership of the engineering design team, including day-to-day direction and long-term resource planning and management.
- Accountability for the entire end-to-end design process, ensuring a standardized approach to delivering product designs into manufacturing.
- Identification of opportunities for Continuous Improvement (CI) to implement new structures, tools, and systems to enhance the engineering team's efficiency.
- Review and optimization of current documentation and systems related to engineering design, facilitating changes to process in a structured and simplistic way where necessary.
- Development and implementation of training and development plans for the engineering team.
- Collaboration with the CEO and broader Senior Leadership Team to provide continuity across the entire engineered solution to customers.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering preferred but open to other disciplines depending on the individual's background.
- Proven experience in a similar role, with direct experience as a Change Manager related to standardizing and optimizing engineering design processes.
- Relatable product design experience from a similar industry, such as heavy truck, transportation, bespoke trailer design, or automotive suppliers.
- Highly energetic and patient individual with the proven ability to drive improvements within an engineering team.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally with various departments and stakeholders involved in the product design process.
- Continuous Improvement focus and openness to new technologies and methods of driving results.
- Previous experience using Solidworks for product design, ideally with some exposure to file storage best practices and Product Data Management (PDM).
