Business Manager Position

Jett Building and Construction is a Rockhampton based Australian owned company. We pride ourselves in delivering outstanding and innovative commercial, residential and renovation projects to all our clients.

The company is seeking to fill a Senior Management Position: Business Manager - Building and Construction to lead the business as it continues to expand, including management of major project delivery within the Central Queensland region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Effectively manage resources to ensure achievement of project schedule
  • Engage, direct, and lead a team of experienced Civil and Construction personnel
  • Manage sub-contractors
  • Accountability of HSE standards, policies, and processes
  • Identify, monitor, and develop high levels of compliance and quality assurance
  • Oversee plans and specifications of the work set out in the contract
  • Develop scopes of work, detailed cost estimates, budgets, contract bids, shop drawings, and deliverable schedules relative to tender package
  • Oversee cost management, scheduling, profit and loss, labour management, invoice approval, billing, collections, inspections, close-outs, and client relations
  • Close out projects on time and on budget, and meet or exceed client expectations

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Demonstrate comprehensive understanding of contractual requirements and drive operational efficiencies
  • Able to build and maintain professional relationships with internal and external parties
  • Highly motivated and client-focused
  • Minimum five years' experience as a Construction Manager
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Strong knowledge and extensive experience in building & construction
  • Excellent verbal, written communication, and analytical skills
  • Passionate about motivating and engaging others as you lead your team
  • Understand the requirements and ensure compliance with the relevant laws and regulations
  • Computer literate with a sound knowledge of Microsoft Office
