
Employee Relations Strategist

The role of the Employee Relations Specialist supports the day-to-day operations of various teams within an organization. This position collaborates with other departments to provide guidance and strategies that align with business objectives.
This strategic liaison is responsible for conducting regular meetings with internal leadership partners, analyzing trends and metrics, and providing recommendations to drive business results. The employee relations specialist also oversees complex matters requiring thorough investigations, assesses recruiting and training needs, and analyzes labor market and labor costs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Understand organizational goals and objectives and develop people strategies to support those goals.
- Conduct regular meetings with leadership partners and provide guidance when necessary.
- Develop and implement strategies to analyze People Operation trends and metrics.
- Oversee and support employee relations matters across the organization.
- Assess recruiting and training needs for assigned internal customers.
- Develop and implement strategies to analyze labor market and labor costs.
- Develop succession plans and performance development plans for top performers.
- Support managers with performance coaching strategies and utilization of Performance Improvement Plans.
- Improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees.
Requirements:
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with presentation experience.
- Excellent organizational skills and high attention to detail.
- Ability to balance multiple priorities and react in a timely and professional manner to critical issues.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to analyze data using systems reporting and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply relevant laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in HR or related field, and/or equivalent work experience in related mid-level HR fields required.
- Minimum of 7 years of HR experience, with 5 years of Generalist experience.
- Experience in retail industry and PHR/SHRM Certification a plus.
- Working knowledge of and experience applying employment laws including EEO, FLSA, ADA, FMLA, HIPAA, OSHA and other federal, state and local laws governing the workplace.
