Seeking a motivated and forward-thinking individual to join our team as a Policy Officer.

Job Description

The Policy Officer position offers a unique opportunity to collaborate with stakeholders across the department and other government agencies, driving strategic policy objectives.

Main Responsibilities
  • Develop and inform whole of agency policy development through research and engagement with stakeholders.
  • Initiate and engage others to ensure well-informed policy, projects or programs are delivered.
  • Analyze and prepare reports, briefs, correspondence and submissions for informed decision-making.
  • Provide strategic policy coordination, advice and support to internal forums and committees.
  • Represent the department at internal forums and committees.
  • Contribute to a positive and effective team culture by participating in work area goal-setting and service improvement activities.
Requirements

This role requires strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to navigate complex environments and exercise judgment to manage competing priorities.

The ideal candidate will possess a high level of self-motivation, adaptability and resilience, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
