We are seeking an Advocacy and Government Relations Manager to spearhead our advocacy efforts. In this key role, you will be responsible for crafting effective advocacy strategies that align with our organisation's goals and priorities. You will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and external partners to develop compelling submissions, reports, and policy statements that shape the legislative agenda.

To succeed in this position, you will need a strong background in social research and policy, community development, health, or public policy. Advanced research and advocacy skills, combined with exceptional networking and stakeholder engagement abilities, are essential. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are also crucial, as is your ability to work under tight deadlines and independently.

The Role

As an Advocacy and Government Relations Manager, your primary responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing a comprehensive advocacy strategy that drives results
  • Crafting compelling submissions, reports, and policy statements that inform policy decisions
  • BUILDING AND MAINTAINING STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIPS WITH KEY STAKEHOLDERS AND ADVOCACY AGENCIES
  • Staying abreast of emerging issues and policy developments, providing expert advice and recommendations
  • Representing our organisation at parliamentary sittings, conferences, and other high-level events
