This is an exciting opportunity for law graduates to join Legal Aid Queensland as a Graduate Lawyer.
As a Graduate Lawyer, you will be working in a team environment to deliver high-quality legal services to vulnerable and disadvantaged people.
The role involves preparing cases, advocating on behalf of clients, and providing advice about legal matters. You will also have the opportunity to expand your experience by undertaking interesting and varied casework in a wide range of jurisdictions.

Key Responsibilities:- Provide an efficient and effective legal service to clients in accordance with legislation and directions, policy, guidelines, and practice standards.
- Deliver quality legal services by conducting casework, including taking instructions, undertaking research and analysis, preparing documents, preparing matters, instructing counsel, and if admitted, appear as a lawyer in various courts and tribunals to effectively advocate for legal aid clients.
- If and when admitted, provide duty lawyer services (when accredited), legal information, and advice to clients and the public.
- Liaise with appropriate stakeholders, other government agencies, and community organisations in relation to case information.
- Support contributions to policy, procedure, law reform, and legal service delivery initiatives as required and participate in the development of team plans and work practices.
- Respond to guidance and performance feedback and be committed to self-development and knowledge building to remain up to date with legislation, policies, and procedural changes.
- Ensure all work complies with quality and case management standards and meet all other professional and corporate responsibilities.

- Maintain a high standard of practice through governance and risk management.
