System Administrator Role

This is a contract position for an experienced System Administrator with expertise in on-premise Microsoft server environments. We seek a highly skilled individual to provide system administration services in Australian Federal Government Departments, preferably within the Defence framework.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Providing technical support and maintenance for complex IT systems.
  • Supporting Dell hardware including PowerEdge servers and configuration of deployable networks.
  • Managing domain workstations operating MS Windows, VMware vSphere ESXi Hypervisor and Management Console, and Data Backup and Recovery Procedures and Software.
  • Working knowledge of network protocols and services (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP), MS Windows Server Platforms, and software development environments.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in IT support roles with at least two years' experience providing System Administration services in Australian Federal Government Departments.
  • Advanced Office Computing Application knowledge in Win10, Excel, Word & XML.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Desirable Skills:
  • Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM)/System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM)
  • Intel McAfee EPO Suite.
  • Microsoft PowerShell Administration in Team Foundation Server.
  • Administrative experience in MS SQL.
