Electrical Engineer Role

  • We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team in shaping the future of sustainability with innovative technologies and low carbon solutions.

This opportunity involves modernizing Alumina Refining PLC Control Systems and communications network infrastructure across refining sites in Australia, Brazil and Spain. As a key member of the Australian Asset Management team, you will play an integral part in the Alumina Refining PLC Obsolescence Project, one of the largest technology projects at Alcoa.

In this role, you will report into the Regional Asset Management team and be responsible for various activities:

  • Automation Inventory Management including management of decommissioned PLC hardware.

  • Management of WAO Refining automation technology roadmap.

  • Management of on-site automation support personnel.

  • Automation supplier contract management as it relates to PLC Modernisation, Technical Support and Parts Management agreement.

  • Subject matter expert for on-site and project related technical queries.

  • Cybersecurity and risk management PLC compliance for WA refining.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience in Electrical Engineering, preferably with Allen Bradley's PLC and modern day Fibre-Ethernet networks such as Ethernet/IP. They will also have demonstrated hands-on experience and knowledge of Capital Project execution.
