Job Title: Control System Engineer

The Alcoa Refinery in Australia is seeking an experienced Control System Engineer to join their team. As a key member of the Asset Management team, you will play a critical role in the modernization of the refinery's PLC control system and communications network infrastructure.

">
  • You will be responsible for leading the automation inventory management process, including the management of decommissioned PLC hardware.">
  • Additionally, you will manage the WAO refining automation technology roadmap, ensuring that all systems are up-to-date and compliant with industry standards.">
  • Another key responsibility will be managing on-site automation support personnel, providing guidance and training as needed.">
  • You will also be responsible for the procurement and management of automation suppliers, ensuring that all contracts are negotiated and executed in a timely manner.">
  • Furthermore, you will serve as a subject matter expert for technical queries related to PLC systems and cybersecurity.">
  • In this role, you will work closely with the ITAS APM team to design and implement new PLC system hardware and network architecture, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.">
  • You will also develop and agree on sustaining requirements once the project is completed, ensuring that all systems remain operational and efficient over time.">
  • Last but not least, you will assist in the installation and wet commissioning of all PLC systems in scope, ensuring that all systems are properly integrated and functioning as expected.

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will require:

">
  • Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering or a related field.">
  • Extensive experience in control systems engineering, preferably with Allen Bradley PLCs.">
  • Familiarity with modern-day fibre-ethernet networks such as Ethernet/IP.">
  • Prior experience in capital project execution would be highly beneficial.
