About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Project Officer to join our team in the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries. As a Senior Project Officer, you will play a key role in the development and implementation of the Fire Ant Suppression Taskforce's primary producer's fire ant self-management project.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and apply project management skills and knowledge to successfully plan, deliver, and evaluate the Fire Ant Suppression Taskforce primary producer's fire ant self-management project.
  • Supervise and help lead a small project team to ensure effective and efficient delivery of the project.
  • Provide technical advice to primary producers and other rural residents on the effective implementation of fire ant management, including risk mitigation, surveillance, treatment, and reporting.
  • Provide effective project coordination, reporting, and tracking of project activities, including project deliverables and risks.
  • Lead project data recording processes utilizing departmental programs, including mapping, field data capture, and integration into National Fire Ant Eradication Program IT systems.
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline and/or relevant transferable experience would be desirable.
