About The Project
We are currently working on the Draper Road Water Treatment Plant and Pipelines project, a major infrastructure project that involves the delivery of a new drinking water supply to the Cairns community. The project scope includes the construction of a water treatment plant, a clear water reservoir, an access road, and various pipeline upgrades and extensions.
About The Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Planner to join our team based on site in Gordonvale, Cairns, QLD. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the successful implementation of project controls processes, interfacing with project teams, clients, stakeholders, and consultants, and leading a planning and controls culture across the project.
Responsibilities Of The Role Include
- Develop and implement project monitoring systems, particularly focusing on time, cost, resources, and quality.
- Interface with project teams, clients, stakeholders, and consultants to manage the planning function in accordance with established procedures.
- Proactively lead a planning and controls culture across the project, based on best practice and with a focus on risk management, cost control, and SQE.
- Early identification and communication of issues and opportunities to the project team.
- Identify the need for training in the use of planning and programming systems, project monitoring & controls, and the interpretation of data and information generated.
- People interaction: collaboration, consultation, and cooperation with project staff to coordinate information flow for the performance of the planning and controls functions.
- Financial management: undertake the implementation of project monitoring systems, particularly focusing on time, cost, resources, and quality.
- Support project managers in report interpretation, analysis of project performance, forward planning, and development of corrective actions to maximize project delivery outcomes.
Requirements
To be suitable for the role, you will have:
- Tertiary degree, preferably in one of the following disciplines - Engineering, Construction, Building, Sciences, Architecture, or Project Management, or equivalent experience.
- Previous experience as a Senior or Lead Planner working on a major infrastructure project.
- Demonstrated application of the principles of planning.
- Use of planning software & tools such as Primavera Project Planning, Time Chainage Charts, Program Forensic Analysis, Earned Value, and Cash Flow Analysis.
