Senior Social Services Professional

As a key member of a multidisciplinary team, you will provide clinical leadership and culturally responsive care navigation to Aboriginal clients and their families who are dealing with issues related to substance use.

This position is responsible for providing specialist social work services to consumers and their families to ensure the provision of high-quality, culturally responsive services in accordance with relevant standards, legislation, and codes of conduct.

The successful candidate will play a leadership role in the multidisciplinary team, participate in professional development, cultural supervision, clinical supervision, teaching, quality activities, and other departmental duties.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide clinical leadership as part of a multidisciplinary team providing culturally responsive care navigation and psychosocial interventions to Aboriginal clients and their families.
  • Develop and implement culturally responsive programs and services that meet the needs of Aboriginal clients and their families.
  • Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to Aboriginal clients and their families.
  • Participate in professional development, cultural supervision, clinical supervision, teaching, quality activities, and other departmental duties.
Requirements:
  • Extensive postgraduate experience working as a Social Worker in relevant clinical areas, including working with Aboriginal clients.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the causative factors related to drug and alcohol misuse within Aboriginal communities and the principles that underpin Aboriginal Health service provision.
  • Experience working independently and collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team to provide culturally responsive care to Aboriginal clients and their families.
  • Demonstrated high-level communication skills (written and verbal), and demonstrated computer skills.
  • Applicants must possess a valid driver's license.
