Early Intervention Specialist

CatholicCare Diocese of Broken Bay is a leading not-for-profit organisation dedicated to delivering compassionate, high-quality services that support individuals, families, and communities.

As an Early Intervention Specialist, you will lead and deliver high-quality child-focused early intervention services. You will work with families facing complex challenges, supporting children and young people aged 0–18 across the Northern Sydney region.

This dynamic opportunity allows you to grow your leadership skills, mentor social work students, and contribute to a values-driven team making a real difference in the community.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Deliver trauma-informed case management and early intervention support to families.
  • Supervise and mentor two social work students.
  • Conduct needs-based assessments and develop tailored case plans.
  • Coordinate referrals and collaborate with internal and external services.
  • Advocate for clients across housing, legal, and welfare systems.
  • Provide outreach support and maintain accurate case documentation.
  • Respond effectively to crisis situations and mitigate risk.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree in Social Work (essential).
  • 3–4+ years' experience in casework.
  • Experience supervising or mentoring Social Work students (desirable).

Additional requirements include:

  • Strong understanding of trauma, mental health, AOD, and DV issues.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • NSW Driver's Licence and access to a fully insured vehicle.
