Workshop Operations Manager

About the Opportunity
We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our expanding team in the position of Workshop Supervisor at Hitachi Construction Machinery. Reporting to the Service Coordinator, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and supervising the service workshop operations to meet customer requirements, while completing projects within budget to the highest level of safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure employees and contractors comply with all health and safety responsibilities and promote a safety-first culture.
- Maintain work schedules to ensure efficient utilization of labor and equipment.
- Lead and motivate a team of workshop tradesmen to work within OEM specifications and guidelines.
- Effectively and efficiently utilize resources and labor to ensure compliance with customer delivery expectations.
- Assist in the coordination of labor, parts, and resource availability to achieve timely machine shutdown repairs.
- Apply six sigma philosophy to provide continuous improvement opportunities within your area of responsibility.
Requirements
- Relevant mechanical or electrical trade qualifications.
- S1, S2, S3 qualifications.
- Similar supervisory experience with strong leadership skills and the ability to guide your team to work cohesively.
- Demonstrated safety focus with a strong understanding of health and safety principles.
- Experience in the maintenance of earthmoving equipment (Hitachi equipment would be an advantage).
- Excellent time management with the ability to effectively manage multiple work fronts.
- The ability to use initiative to contribute and support continuous improvement and drive change.
- Intermediate level of computer literacy, particularly working with MS Office.
