Job Title: IR Specialist

The role of the Industrial Relations (IR) specialist is to support the end-to-end management of industrial relations within a large organisation.

This includes developing and implementing strategies, monitoring the external IR environment, and providing advice on IR matters including enterprise agreement interpretation and compliance with legal obligations.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Compliance: Identify, monitor, and mitigate IR risks, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Advice: Provide expert guidance on industrial instruments, resolve complex queries, and understand the implications for employees.
  • Monitoring: Keep up-to-date with changes in legislation and case law, and formulate action plans to address emerging needs.
  • Projects Support: Lead strategic projects, providing technical support, analytical skills, and stakeholder management as required.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience in delivering operational IR activities, identifying compliance risks, and providing advice in a multifaceted organisation.
  • Solid knowledge of Australian workplace relations and industrial relations environment, employment contracts, and policies.
  • Strong interpersonal, influencing, and communication skills, including the ability to distil complex information into simple messages.
  • Solid data analysis skills, sourcing and manipulating data to identify trends, issues, and corrective actions.
