Job Description

We are seeking a Child and Youth Support Worker to join our team in providing 24/7 ongoing care and protection of children and young people under the Guardianship of the Chief Executive and living in short and long-term residential care. The role involves working collaboratively with other professionals, the Department for Child Protection (DCP), and key stakeholders.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Has a Certificate IV in Child, Youth, & Family Intervention or equivalent qualification.
  • Has previous experience working with vulnerable and at-risk children and young people.
  • Can manage boundaries, stay safe, and effectively supervise.
  • Is able to work in high-pressure situations and practice self-care.

Responsibilities

  • Provide trauma-informed, person-centred care within a strengths-based and restorative framework.
  • Assess placement needs and understand what young people require for future placements.
  • Enrich their lives, build life skills, and independence.

Requirements

  • Full unrestricted South Australia Driver's License.
  • DHS Child-Related Employment Screening or Working With Children Check.
  • National Police Clearance.
  • Successful Psychological Suitability Assessment.
  • Up-to-date Covid 19 Vaccination status or medical exemption.
  • Ability to work across a 24-hour, 7-day week roster.
