Cardiac Monitoring Technician

Position: Telemetry Technician 6102 Med/Surg - (Part-Time)
In this role, the Telemetry Technician (TT) is responsible for the continuous observation of monitor readings on the central console within the telemetry unit. The TT will capture rhythm strips and promptly identify and communicate any variations to the charge nurse.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assign telemetry monitors to incoming patients, ensuring accurate documentation of patient details.
- Maintain vigilant observation of telemetry monitors.
- Conduct initial and routine rhythm strip evaluations as per established protocols.
- Interpret and document rhythms in the medical records accurately.
- Timely reporting of any changes or concerns to the charge nurse or primary nurse.
- Keep the telemetry flow sheet updated at the nursing station and ensure proper placement in medical records.
- Act as a receptionist, providing assistance to staff, physicians, and visitors.
- Respond to phone calls and patient intercoms promptly, delivering messages accurately.
- Safeguard patient medical information, emphasizing confidentiality and compliance with regulations.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization at the nursing station.
- Facilitate equipment maintenance by submitting requests as needed.
- Exhibit Service Excellence by creating a positive environment and anticipating customer needs.
- Adhere to employee health requirements and follow Universal Precautions.
- Promote safety by following dress code policies and reporting unsafe practices.
Additional Duties if Assigned HUC Responsibilities:
- Timely transcription of physician orders, ensuring accuracy and adherence to policies.
- Maintain patient charts with appropriate forms, verifying correct labeling and information.
- Order necessary supplies based on unit requirements in a cost-effective manner.
- Assist with patient admissions, transfers, and discharges as directed.
Organizational Compliance:
- Adhere to company-wide policies and procedures.
- Demonstrate performance that aligns with the company's Service Excellence expectations.
- Operate within the ethical and compliance guidelines set forth by the organization.
- Maintain professional standards and scope of practice at all times.
Other Responsibilities:

- Basic computer skills and competency in cardiac rhythm interpretation are required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Completion of a Medical Terminology course is advantageous.
