Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Telemetry Technician to join our team at Ocean State Job Lot. As a Telemetry Technician, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the highest level of service excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor Surveillance: Continuously monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms on the central console, identifying and reporting any changes to the charge nurse in a timely manner.
  • Patient Care Coordination: Assign telemetry monitors to new patients, maintain accurate records, and ensure seamless communication with the healthcare team.
  • Administrative Support: Provide receptionist duties, answer phone calls, and respond to patient intercoms in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Facilitate equipment maintenance and ensure the nursing station remains clean and organized.
  • Compliance and Safety: Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and regulations, including employee health requirements and Universal Precautions.
Requirements
  • Education and Training: Basic computer skills and competent in cardiac rhythm interpretation.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a medical setting, preferably in telemetry or cardiac rhythm interpretation.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Medical Terminology: Previous medical terminology class or equivalent experience.
