Position: Telemetry Technician 6102 Med/Surg - (Part-Time)
As a Telemetry Technician, you will report directly to the Unit Manager and play a crucial role in ensuring the continuous monitoring of patient vitals through our advanced telemetry systems. Your responsibilities will include:
- Assigning telemetry monitors to new patients, ensuring accurate documentation in accordance with established protocols.
- Maintaining vigilant observation of monitor readings to promptly identify any significant changes.
- Conducting initial and routine rhythm strips, documenting findings accurately in the medical records.
- Communicating any concerns or changes in patient status to the charge nurse or primary nurse without delay.
- Managing the telemetry flow sheet and ensuring its proper placement in the medical record.
- Acting as a welcoming presence at the nursing station, assisting staff, visitors, and healthcare professionals as needed.
- Handling incoming calls and intercom messages with professionalism and efficiency.
- Upholding patient confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA regulations while managing sensitive medical information.
- Ensuring the nursing station remains organized and clean.
- Facilitating equipment maintenance by submitting requests as necessary.
- Exemplifying Service Excellence by creating a positive environment and anticipating the needs of our customers.
- Complying with all health and safety requirements, including Universal Precautions.
- Understanding your role in emergency situations and reporting any unsafe practices to management.
Additional Responsibilities if Assigned HUC Duties:
- Transcribing physician orders accurately and in a timely manner, following current policies and procedures.
- Maintaining patient charts with all necessary forms, ensuring correct labeling and information.
- Ordering supplies based on unit requirements in a cost-effective manner.
- Assisting with patient admissions, transfers, and discharges as directed by nursing staff.

- Demonstrating exemplary performance in line with the organization's Service Excellence Behavioral Expectations.
- Operating within the ethical and compliance guidelines set forth by the organization.
- Maintaining professional standards and scope of practice at all times.

- Basic computer skills and competency in cardiac rhythm interpretation are required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Completion of a Medical Terminology course is advantageous.
