Senior Legal Counsel

We're looking for an experienced Senior Legal Counsel to join our team at Seven West Media in Sydney. As a key member of our legal department, you will play a vital role in driving business success and contributing to the growth and success of our company.

The Opportunity:

As a Senior Legal Counsel, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with legal frameworks, managing risks, and negotiating contracts that align with our commercial objectives. You will work closely with internal teams to provide clear and timely legal guidance and advice that supports our business needs.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing strategic legal advice to support business decisions and mitigate risks.
  • Negotiating and managing complex contracts to ensure alignment with corporate goals.
  • Identifying and mitigating legal risks to maximize the company's position.
  • Assisting in implementing new company initiatives and ensuring compliance with legal regulations.

About You:

You will be an experienced lawyer with strong interpersonal skills, strategic thinking, and a collaborative mindset. Your attention to detail, analytical thinking, and proactive approach will be essential in our fast-paced environment. You will have a proven track record of providing high-quality legal advice and have excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Requirements:

  • At least 6 years of experience in intellectual property, transmission, and digital agreements, with a strategic approach to complicated commercial negotiations.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to manage delicate situations with sensitivity.
  • A current practicing certificate and commitment to regular attendance of CPD training to stay up to date with current legal developments.
