Aboriginal Health Practitioner/RN Opportunity in Darwin

This role is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Aboriginal Health Practitioner (AHP) or Registered Nurse to join our multidisciplinary team, providing high-quality primary healthcare to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people in the Greater Darwin Area.

  • Job Description:
  • The AHP/RN will work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care that respects clients' cultural backgrounds and addresses their physical and mental health needs.
  • They will utilise standard treatment manuals and apply evidence-based practices to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.
  • Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Nursing and/or Certificate IV in Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care (Practice).
  • Current registration as an AHP/Nurse with AHPRA.
  • Demonstrated understanding and/or experience in providing primary healthcare, utilising standard treatment manuals.
  • Demonstrated awareness of and sensitivity to Aboriginal culture and history, knowledge of issues impacting on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.
  • Well-developed written, verbal, and interpersonal skills, including ability to communicate sensitively in a cross-cultural environment.
  • Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team, maintaining professionalism, confidentiality, and discretion.
