Aboriginal Health Practitioner Opportunity

Our organization is seeking a highly skilled Aboriginal Health Practitioner to provide culturally appropriate primary health care services to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people living in the region. This role requires a strong understanding of Aboriginal culture and history, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

As an Aboriginal Health Practitioner with our organization, you will work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team to promote health and well-being. You will provide high-quality, comprehensive primary health care services that meet the needs of our patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide primary health care services that are respectful, safe, and meet the needs of our patients.
  • Work with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement effective care plans.
  • Conduct assessments and identify patient needs, working with multidisciplinary teams to address those needs.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

A Bachelor of Nursing or Certificate IV in Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care (Practice), current registration with AHPRA, and strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Requirements:
  • Current registration as an AHP/Nurse with AHPRA.
  • Demonstrated understanding and/or experience in providing primary health care.
  • Demonstrated awareness of and sensitivity to Aboriginal culture and history.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated computer skills and ability to use clinical practice software.
