We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse to fill the role of McGrath Cancer Care Nurse.
About the RoleThis is a temporary full-time position until 30 June 2027. The successful candidate will work within Far West Local Health District, supporting Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people with a cancer diagnosis.
- Provide expert care navigation and support for individuals affected by cancer in remote communities.
- Collaborate with existing Cancer Services staff, Aboriginal Health Services, and Primary Health Care providers to deliver high-quality patient care.
- Foster strong relationships with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples, Elders, and Traditional Owners.
The successful candidate will lead the ongoing development of clinical practice reflecting the McGrath Model of Care.
Key Responsibilities- Registered Nurse with current registration and relevant post-registration qualifications or at least 3 years of experience working with cancer patients.
- Ability to engage and build positive relationships with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples.
- Expertise in critical thinking to manage and navigate care, provide information and education to patients and carers/family, and escalate clinical concerns.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills to meet deadlines and contribute to a multidisciplinary team.
