Electrical Systems Design Engineer

This role presents an exceptional opportunity to contribute to the development of high-voltage transmission projects nationwide.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Designing and delivering protection and control systems for HV substations
  • Creating specifications, schematics, and functional logic diagrams for complex electrical systems
  • Collaborating closely with teams responsible for HV electrical, primary/secondary, and drafting
  • Supporting commissioning and site integration of electrical systems
  • Ensuring quality, documentation, and compliance with technical standards
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated experience in protection/control systems for transmission networks
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications (e.g. Bachelor of Engineering)
  • Professional Engineering (CPEng) registration or working towards it
  • Membership or eligibility with a relevant engineering body (e.g. Engineers Australia)
  • Thorough understanding of substation SCADA, PLC, HMI, and protection relays
  • Strong knowledge of relevant industry standards (e.g. AS/NZS 61850)
