Land Development Project Engineer

We seek a driven project engineer to collaborate on our land development and planning team in Charlotte.

About the Position

Join a leading planning, engineering, and environmental sciences firm known for its technological prowess and impactful projects spanning the East Coast.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to work within a diverse team across various disciplines, providing exposure to a wide array of projects ranging in size and complexity.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop engineering plans and specifications in a team environment for multiple projects.
  • Complete due diligence reports and preliminary cost estimates for various sites and project types.
  • Work within budget and deadlines.
  • Lead the development of preliminary layouts, design concepts, and detailed design drawings.
  • Utilize software to generate project-specific drawings and reports.
  • Manage quality control procedures and recommend enhancements.
  • Train and mentor junior staff on technical aspects and policies.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A willingness to learn implementation of integrated services projects.
  • Knowledge of land development construction including codes and regulations.
  • Experience with client and review agency interactions.
  • Innovative design skills to develop solutions to complex projects.
  • Strong leadership skills and growth potential.
Benefits
  • BS in Civil Engineering or related degree.
  • 5+ years of increasing engineering experience on complex projects.
  • PE licensure expected or ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D, MS Office, Excel.
  • Proficient with hydrology and hydraulic modelling software such as HydroCad, PondPack, StormCAD and/or Sanitary & Sewer Analysis.
  • Proficient in site layout, grading, utility design and stormwater management.

  • Experience in developing and compiling/producing site plans, construction documents, specification, and engineering reports.
