We're seeking a talented Senior Category Manager to drive the strategic direction and operational excellence of our vendor management and procurement activities.

About the Role

As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in leading commercial negotiations, vendor relationship management, and category strategy development. You'll draw on your expertise to lead and optimize procurement processes, ensuring alignment with business objectives and delivering measurable outcomes for the organisation.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Engage with stakeholders to understand current vendor performance and future requirements, enabling effective planning and execution of procurement activities.
  • Establish strong business partnerships to ensure needs are met, including outcomes, value, performance, risk, ESG, etc.
  • Support the resolution of escalations to preserve TPG outcomes.
  • Manage IT categories and vendors, working closely with business owners to deliver optimal value.
  • Identify and manage delivery of savings and cost reduction initiatives without compromising quality or service/scope.
  • Lead commercial negotiations with vendors, ensuring optimum outcomes while maintaining high professional and ethical standards.
  • Manage RFx processes and develop category strategies that support business strategies.
  • Owning vendor portfolios, ensuring contracts are in place and managed effectively.
  • Regularly review supplier arrangements to ensure contractual obligations are met, business value is delivered, and disputes are resolved.
  • Provide commercial advice to stakeholders regarding vendor management and contractual agreements.
  • Maintain a consolidated vendor base, leveraging scale and value, and managing non-performing or redundant vendors.
  • Review and approve requisitions across your vendor base to ensure orders adhere to supplier agreements.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders across all functions.

Your Qualifications:

  • Commercial degree qualification or equivalent desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage with key stakeholders.
  • Experience negotiating and managing complex supplier contracts.
  • Experience managing and leading RFx processes.
  • Full understanding of the vendor lifecycle and partnering arrangements.
  • Exposure and/or experience within purchasing/procurement environments with a sound understanding of procurement policies and procedures.
  • Solutions-focused with strong commercial acumen/analytical skills.
