Construction Insurance Specialist

As a Construction Underwriter, you will play a key role in providing specialist advice and exercising sound judgment to deliver effective products and service solutions across the Construction portfolio.
You will be at the forefront of advising and placing insurance for Victoria's major infrastructure plans, known as the Big Build, as well as other major project activity across our State, including rail, roads, hospitals, schools, and other government infrastructure.
This role will involve developing and maintaining specialized knowledge in construction insurance, staying updated on market trends and legal developments, and collaborating with stakeholders to ensure optimal risk transfer models.
You will also engage with leaders and other team members in the Infrastructure and Energy Practice team to shape the insurance strategy strategically and proactively for our clients.
Additionally, you will work with other team members to deliver strategy and programs for our clients, including the State's major infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities- Provide expert advice and underwriting solutions for complex and large-scale construction projects across Victoria.
- Develop and maintain specialized knowledge in construction insurance.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure optimal risk transfer models.
- Engage with leaders and other team members in the Infrastructure and Energy Practice team.
- Work with other team members to deliver strategy and programs for our clients.
To succeed in this role, you will require:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in insurance underwriting or broking.
- Strong understanding of commercial insurance products and reinsurance markets.
- Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills.
- A sound working knowledge of the reinsurance market, including program structures and how to achieve value for money outcomes.
- Have a professional service approach, with demonstrated commercial acumen and skills in data and business analysis.
