We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Field Services Specialist to join our team at the Sydney Observing Operations Hub, one of the Bureau of Meteorology's premier technical operations centres.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in electronics, electrical or instrumentation, with a proven ability to work independently in remote locations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining and repairing communication, telemetry and instrumentation systems
  • Providing technical support to ensure seamless service delivery across various networks
  • Collaborating with colleagues to achieve shared goals and objectives

The ideal candidate will possess excellent problem-solving skills, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

We offer a competitive salary package, including an estimated $84,000 - $92,000 per annum, plus superannuation. The role also offers opportunities for professional growth and development, as well as the chance to work on exciting projects that contribute to the advancement of Australia's weather forecasting capabilities.

The successful candidate will be based at our Sydney Observing Operations Hub, with frequent travel required to remote locations throughout NSW, Norfolk Island, and Lord Howe Island. You will have access to a range of resources, including 4WDs, planes, boats, and helicopters.
