About This Role

As a Pastoral Care Practitioner, you will play a vital role in shaping the provision of spiritual and pastoral care for residents, families, and staff. You will be responsible for identifying and responding to their diverse spiritual needs with exceptional sensitivity, compassion, knowledge, and skill.

This is an opportunity to work collaboratively as part of a care team delivering services to residents and their family members. Your focus will be on ensuring that the diverse pastoral and spiritual needs of residents, their families, and staff are met. As a key member of the team, you will establish and maintain relationships with stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Providing spiritual care support to residents based on priority needs
  • Supporting spiritual care needs of residents' family members and staff as required
  • Maintaining effective working relationships with key stakeholders

Early-career practitioners or those looking to start a career in pastoral care may be interested in this supervised role. We offer support for completing clinical pastoral care training for applicants seeking a supervised position.

About You

You will be a highly motivated professional committed to enhancing the dignity and well-being of people living in residential aged care. To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • A tertiary qualification in a relevant field such as pastoral care, spiritual direction, counseling, or similar
  • Clinical Pastoral Education and/or equivalent experience in a similar role in aged care, healthcare, or community care
  • Established skills in creating and facilitating meaningful rituals
  • Eligibility for SCA certified membership
