The Pastoral Care Coordinator Role

The Pastoral Care Coordinator provides holistic support and care to clients, their families, team members, and volunteers. This role involves regular home visits across various areas, utilizing personal transportation for mileage reimbursement. The successful candidate will work three days a week, leveraging their expertise and compassion to enhance the lives of those they serve.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assessing Client Needs: Conduct thorough assessments of clients' spiritual and emotional needs, developing tailored care plans to address their unique requirements.
  • Providing Support: Offer empathetic and compassionate support to clients and their families, facilitating carer support groups and faith-related activities that promote well-being and connection.
  • Liaising with Leaders: Establish effective partnerships with religious and spiritual leaders to coordinate provision of spiritual support, ensuring seamless delivery of services to clients and their loved ones.
  • Training Team Members: Deliver targeted training sessions to equip team members with skills and knowledge in pastoral care, including boundaries, grief and loss, faith and hope.
  • Extending Skills: Collaborate with team members to enhance their abilities in meeting clients' spiritual needs, identifying relevant learning resources to foster growth and development.
  • Participating in Events: Engage actively in staff meetings, in-services, expos, and other events to promote pastoral care opportunities, build strategic partnerships, and drive organisational success.
  • Regular Meetings: Schedule regular meetings with local service managers and team members to receive feedback, identify areas for improvement, and report on key developments and changes.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To excel in this role, you should possess a deep understanding of individuals living with life-limiting illnesses, including dementia, and the impact on carers. A strong personal and active Christian faith, theological qualifications, and experience in pastoral care are also essential for success.
