Job Opportunity: Spiritual Care Provider

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled professional to provide spiritual support and care to our residents, clients, staff, and volunteers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver tailored pastoral care in response to identified needs and referrals
  • Promote holistic, person-centred care by assessing and evaluating residents' spiritual needs to enhance their spiritual wellbeing
  • Coordinate appropriate responses to needs through the direct provision of support or by arranging and facilitating other relevant services
  • Foster strong collaborative relationships with staff and volunteers involved in the care of individuals and provide support to family members ensuring a coordinated approach to spiritual care
  • Prepare and conduct weekly worship services that respect diverse perspectives
  • Prepare and conduct memorial services as required
  • Develop local resources for site use in end-of-life scenarios
  • Liaise with organisations of various faiths to arrange services at the facility
Requirements:
  • Completion of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) or equivalent – desirable
  • Experience in a pastoral care role, preferably within an aged care or healthcare setting
  • Able to exercise impartial spiritual ministry to people of diverse backgrounds, including awareness of core tenets of major Christian denominations and world religions
  • Experience in working with individuals with dementia
  • Relevant qualifications in pastoral or theological training, or related fields
  • A professional reference
