About the role
Help shape the provision of spiritual and pastoral care of residents, families and staff at Calvary Strzelecki House, ensuring their diverse spiritual needs are identified and responded to with exceptional sensitivity, compassion, knowledge and skill.
As part of our holistic care of residents, the Pastoral Care Practitioner is responsible for the provision of spiritual and emotional support at Calvary Strzelecki House which is located in Mirboo North in Gippsland.
The Practitioner offers support to those in the Home on a regular basis as well as during significant events and life transitions. As a member of the home leadership team, the Practitioner collaborates with a multidisciplinary team, contributing assessments and reviews of the spiritual needs of each resident.
This role is permanent part-time role (0.4 FTE) on weekdays during standard business hours and your main duties will include:
Providing spiritual care support to residents according to triage priorities
As required, providing spiritual care support to residents' family members and to staff
Establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships with key stakeholders
The role is classified from Pastoral Care P1 PP1 $29.64- Pastoral Care L2 PP4 - $42.19
About you
You are a highly engaged professional practitioner, seeking to uphold the dignity of people living in residential aged care and seeking to make a meaningful contribution to their wellbeing.
**You possess the following**:
A tertiary qualification in pastoral care, spiritual direction, counselling or similar
Clinical Pastoral Education and/or equivalent Recent experience working in a similar role in aged care, health care or community care
Established skills in preparation, creation, leadership and facilitation of meaningful rituals
Eligibility for SCA certified membership
