To maintain a clean and sanitary environment, performing routine cleaning and minor maintenance of buildings and grounds is essential. The following duties and responsibilities are critical to this role:

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Cleans, washes, and disinfects building areas using various manual and power cleaning equipment.
  • Performs laundry duties, collects and disposes of refuse, and maintains clean refuse areas.
  • Required to work with specialized chemicals and use proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for tasks like disinfecting and sanitizing high-touch areas.
  • Maintains parking lots and sidewalks using hand and powered equipment.
  • Performs minor maintenance on buildings, electrical fixtures, and plumbing.
  • Sets up furniture for functions and meetings, maintains logs and records, and orders janitorial supplies as needed.
  • Secures buildings by arming alarms and locking doors and windows.
  • Maintains professional relationships with residents and family members.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Ability to lift 40 lbs.
  • Teamwork and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of WHMIS certification and chemical handling.
  • Understanding of safety protocols and emergency procedures.

Requirements:

  • Grade 10
  • WHMIS certification

Preferred Experience:

  • A minimum of six months of recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
