We're Hiring a Baker/Pastry Cook

Job Overview:

The ideal candidate will possess exceptional baking skills, excellent communication abilities and be passionate about working in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Product Preparation: Prepare, bake and finish artisan breads, pastries and other baked goods to high standards of quality.
  2. Teamwork: Collaborate effectively with the team to uphold premium product standards and contribute to daily bakery operations.
  3. Bakery Operations: Operate and maintain bakery equipment including mixers, dough dividers, sheeters and ovens to ensure efficient production processes.
  4. Quality Control: Monitor baking times, oven temperatures and product consistency to guarantee all items are baked to the highest specifications.
  5. Stock Management: Control stock levels and monitor raw material usage to minimize waste and optimize production.
  6. Cleanliness & Hygiene: Maintain a clean and sanitary work area and adhere to food safety standards at all times.
  7. Production Planning: Assist in planning and scheduling daily production to meet customer demand while minimizing downtime.
Requirements:
  • Qualification: Certificate III or IV in Baking or Patisserie.
  • Hands-on experience in artisan-style bread making, traditional baking techniques and pastry production.
  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality products consistently.
  • Familiarity with food safety regulations, HACCP and WHS requirements.
