About the Therapeutic Specialist Role

Anglicare Victoria's Therapeutic Foster Care (TFC) model provides a trauma-informed, relationship-based service for children and young people who present with complex emotional, behavioural, developmental, and cultural needs.

The Therapeutic Specialist is the clinical lead within each Therapeutic Foster Care team. Each Therapeutic Specialist supports up to 12 children and plays a key role in embedding trauma-informed practice across the program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct therapeutic assessments, develop Treatment Plans, and deliver clinical consultations
  • Coach carers and staff in CARE and trauma-informed practice
  • Lead reflective practice and contribute to care team planning
  • Coordinate SDQ and HoNOSCA assessments and maintain clinical documentation
  • Provide consultation and reflective supervision to carers and case managers
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Master of Psychology, Bachelor or Master of Social Work, Masters Family therapy, Bachelor of Applied Science (OT), Bachelor or Master of Occupational Therapy and eligibility for registration with the applicable professional association
  • Victoria Driver's License
Desirable Skills and Experience
  • Experience developing intervention plans and mentoring and coaching staff in therapeutic responses
  • Experience conducting in-depth, comprehensive, narrative assessments
  • Experience with trauma/mental health of children and young people
  • Experience providing secondary consults and training for clinical staff working with children and young people experiencing impacts of trauma

This is a part-time role, 0.8, 4 days per week, 30.4 hours, permanent. You'll receive:
