Therapeutic Specialist Role
Job Description
Take Two provides therapeutic services for infants, children and young people who have experienced trauma, neglect and disrupted attachment. Our team partners with community service agencies to provide therapeutic family violence services, foster care, residential care and services for vulnerable young people.
- Ballarat office
- Part-time, permanent role
Berry Street has implemented the Teaching Family Model (TFM), an evidence-based holistic approach supporting young people in out-of-home care by teaching social skills, problem-solving and self-determination in a family-style setting.
Our Residential Care staff are trained in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI), a proactive approach to crisis prevention and de-escalation.
You will work closely with young people and the Residential Care team to facilitate reflective practice and enhance staff knowledge of therapeutic parenting strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct assessments and develop therapeutic treatment plans with clear, regularly reviewed goals.
- Collaborate with clients and care teams to achieve goals within set timeframes.
- Support staff in implementing the Teaching Family Model through training and tailored approaches.
- Assist residential staff in incorporating therapeutic methods.
Required Skills and Qualifications
An undergraduate or higher qualification in a Health or Welfare-related field is required, with at least 5 years of clinical experience with children.
Strong decision-making skills and clinical judgment are essential for this role.
Self-discipline to deliver targeted clinical services within strict timeframes is also required.
Additional desirable qualifications include:
- Postgraduate training
