Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Project Coordinator to lead the planning, implementation, and evaluation of Aboriginal-specific health promotion programs focused on HIV, STIs, and viral hepatitis.
This role will involve delivering key priorities outlined in local, state, and national strategies. You will build and strengthen collaborative relationships between services, Aboriginal-led organisations, and other health and non-health sectors that work with Aboriginal communities.
This is an Aboriginal Identified Role, requiring someone to bring their cultural capability and lived experience as an Aboriginal person. As part of the recruitment process, you will be asked to provide documentation to confirm your Aboriginality and your cultural capability will be assessed through the recruitment process.
Main Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement culturally safe health promotion programs that meet community needs.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including Aboriginal-led organisations and health services.
- Deliver projects that meet tight deadlines and prioritise competing interests, ensuring successful outcomes for our clients.
- Work collaboratively within a team environment to achieve shared goals.
Selection Criteria:
- You must be of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent.
- Relevant qualifications in a health-related field and/or experience as a health worker/health promotion/project worker.
- Demonstrated knowledge of current HIV, sexual health, and hepatitis prevention, testing, and treatment strategies.
- A proven ability to initiate, develop, deliver, evaluate, and report on health-related projects, achieving positive outcomes for Aboriginal communities.
