Aboriginal Health Specialist Role

This is a key position that requires applicants to be of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent.

The role involves ensuring access to healthcare services for Aboriginal people with substance dependence needs by establishing effective systems and processes between Justice Health NSW custodial and community drug and alcohol services and other key services.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Developing and maintaining relationships between health services and the Aboriginal community.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care to Aboriginal patients.
Key Requirements:
  • Degree in a relevant field such as health science or social work.
  • Experience working with Aboriginal communities and cultural competence.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and colleagues.
