Job Overview

Oculus International is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Strategic Procurement Leader to join their team in Sydney. This role will play a pivotal part in shaping the organisation's procurement strategy, ensuring effective collaboration with all stakeholders to achieve best practice standards.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of public sector governance, procurement, and contract processes, as well as excellent commercial skills, including business planning, target setting, and measurement.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned procurement professional to lead the development and implementation of strategic procurement initiatives that drive organisational growth and efficiency.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and implementing procurement strategies aligned with corporate goals and objectives;
  • Leading tendering and contract negotiations to ensure compliance with relevant legislation;
  • Implementing contract management processes to optimise relationships with approved contractors;
  • Providing expert advice on contract performance and identifying trends, risks, and opportunities;
  • Driving the Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) program to support key suppliers;
  • Establishing and maintaining governance frameworks to monitor procurement performance;
  • Leading and developing the procurement team to drive high performance;
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A degree in procurement, supply chain management, or business management, or equivalent experience;
  • Membership in a professional body such as CIPS or WCC is desirable;
  • Proven experience in leading Contract and Category Management teams;
  • Strong understanding of public sector governance, procurement, and contract processes;
  • Well-developed commercial skills, including business planning, target setting, and measurement;
  • In-depth knowledge of leading procurement principles and practices;
  • Advanced project management skills;
