Key Leadership Opportunity for Subacute Speech Pathology Services

About the Role:

The Grade 3 Subacute Speech Pathologist will provide high-quality services and clinical leadership within the Speech Pathology department across rehabilitation and GEM wards at Kew and/or Fitzroy campus.

This position involves clinical expertise in subacute speech pathology management of patients with communicative-communicative and swallowing disorders. The role is key in supporting and mentoring Grade 2 and Grade 1 Speech Pathologists within the stream.

  • Strong leadership and contributes to the strategic plan and vision of the department
  • Assessment and management of patients in accordance with up-to-date knowledge of departmental clinical policies and currently accepted Speech Pathology Australia professional standards of practice
  • Ensuring that speech pathology services provided are based on the latest available evidence
  • Opportunities for training and development

Classifications for this position will range from VW6 - VW9 ($102,091-$116,646 pro rata per annum).

Your Contribution:
  • Bachelor of Applied Science (Speech Pathology), or Bachelor of Speech Pathology or equivalent
  • Eligibility for membership of Speech Pathology Australia and knowledge of Speech Pathology Australia position papers / Code of Ethics
  • Current National criminal history check, or willing to obtain
  • At least 7 years' experience in adult Speech Pathology
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills incorporating excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team, identify and build relationships with key stakeholders
