About the Role

The Speech Pathologist will provide high-quality services and clinical leadership within the Speech Pathology department across rehabilitation and GEM wards.

This position involves clinical expertise in subacute speech pathology management of patients with communicative and swallowing disorders.

Responsibilities include:

  • Strong leadership and contribution to the strategic plan and vision of the department
  • Assessment and management of patients in accordance with departmental clinical policies and professional standards
  • Ensuring speech pathology services are based on the latest evidence

Classification for this position will range from VW6 to VW9 per annum.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality patient care and service delivery
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders
Qualifications and Experience

Applicants must possess:

  • Bachelor of Applied Science (Speech Pathology), Bachelor of Speech Pathology, or equivalent
  • Eligibility for membership of a relevant professional association and knowledge of its standards
  • Current National criminal history check or willingness to obtain
  • At least 7 years' experience in adult Speech Pathology
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team and build stakeholder relationships
