Business Operations Manager

We are seeking a commercially focused leader to drive growth and success within our Commercial Business Department, shaping the future of our community through efficient and effective delivery of commercial business services.
The successful candidate will have significant experience in managing complex operations, ideally within a government or public sector context, with a strong background in managing commercial assets, economic development, tourism, property services, and facilities management.
This is a senior leadership role within our Senior Leadership Team, requiring strong strategic and financial acumen, as well as excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
The successful candidate will contribute openly and constructively as a member of our leadership team, working collaboratively with staff and stakeholders to achieve our goals and objectives.
- Lead the Commercial Business Department to deliver efficient, effective, and coherent commercial business services for customers and the community;
- Oversight and management of key commercial assets, including Macleay Valley Coast Holiday Parks, Kempsey Airport, and Kempsey Regional Saleyards;
- Management of the Slim Dusty Centre and Visitor Information Services;
- Strategic and statutory property management;
- Management of our owned facilities and cemeteries;
The ideal candidate will possess a tertiary qualification in Business or a related field, with significant experience in a senior leadership role overseeing commercial operations, property, and/or business services. They will also have knowledge of governance, compliance, and risk management frameworks within a government setting.

Key Accountabilities- Develop and implement strategies to drive commercial success and growth;
- Lead the development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective delivery of commercial business services;
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including staff and external partners;
- Manage budgets and financial resources to ensure sustainable business outcomes;
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of commercial business services;
