Senior Leadership Position

Kempsey Shire Council is a progressive and proactive organisation with a strong commitment to building an inspired, connected community. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to lead our Commercial Business Department in delivering efficient, effective and coherent commercial business services.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in managing complex operations, ideally within a government or public sector context. They will possess excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills, as well as strong strategic and financial acumen.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the Commercial Business Department in line with the organisation's values and objectives
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to deliver commercial business services
  • Manage key commercial assets and services, including economic development and tourism initiatives
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including the community, council members and other departments
Required Qualifications and Skills
  • Tertiary qualification in Business or a related field
  • Significant experience in a senior leadership role, preferably within a government or public sector context
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to balance commercial success with community benefit and stakeholder engagement
